Botulinum toxin is a protein that is produced by the bacterium clostridium botulinum. It is a non-surgical treatment that can temporarily reduce facial lines caused by overexpression of facial muscles. The botulinum toxin is delivered to the muscles that cause these expression lines and temporarily prevents the muscles from contracting.
Treating wrinkles with botulinum toxin is a minimally invasive procedure, simple and straightforward. It does not involve incisions or general anaesthesia and has minimal downtime.

This involves the application of an acid to the surface of the skin. The deeper the penetration of the chemical into the skin, the more noticeable the effects. Chemical peels can be used for a wide range of skin conditions including acne, dyspigmentation, photodamage, rosacea, superficial scars and deep wrinkles, sun damage, scars caused by acne and skin blemishes common with age.
What happens during treatment?
The skin is cleansed, and a prep solution is applied, next the acid solution is carefully applied in layers directly onto the skin being treated. Once certain end points are achieved this completes this peeling aspect of the treatment. Your practitioner will then apply the necessary post peel creams including SPF to protect the skin following treatment.
What can be expected after treatment?
This is dependent on the chemical peel used and can range from slight ‘tingling’ sensation to slight redness. For mild peels there may be little or no visual peeling, with moderate and deeper peels the peeling effect is generally greater. We use peels that are the most effective with the least ‘down time’ so you can resume normal work/activities following the procedure.
How long do the effects last?
A number of factors can affect the longevity of the treatment, these include the indication for the peel, strength of peel and on the patient’s post peel skin care and maintenance. Some of the effects can be permanent or last between 1-2 years. However, for ongoing anti-ageing or rejuvenation purposes it is recommended to have regular treatments.
Dermaroller therapy is advanced micro-medical skin-needling that stimulates the skin to regenerate and repair itself naturally and safely, creating smoother, brighter, healthier, younger looking skin.
What can be treated?
Dermaroller Therapy can significantly improve the appearance of:
We normally recommend a series of three Dermaroller procedures with approximately 6 weeks between them. However, in some cases such as acne scarring it may require further procedures.
What happens during the treatment?
We use a topical an anesthetic to numb the skin making the procedure comfortable; it will normally take up to 30 minutes for the topical anesthetic to work and 20 – 30 minutes for the Dermaroller Therapy procedure.
The Dermaroller medical device produces thousands of micro-medical needle-columns in the skin. Each column will penetrate into the dermis of the skin. The column will close rapidly enabling the skin to recover quickly – often in the same day.
What happens after the treatment?
After a Dermaroller Therapy procedure your body will start to naturally regenerate and repair the skin, working below the surface in the dermis. This takes time as new collagen is formed, new skin cells are generated, and blood supply is enhanced. It can take up to 6 weeks before visible signs of regeneration and repair are seen, and the process will continue over the following months, providing you with a natural and long-lasting enhancement.
What can be expected after treatment?
Immediately after the procedure you will look as though you have moderate sunburn and your skin may feel warm and tighter than usual. This will start to subside after one to two hours and will normally recover within the same day with only slight redness the following day. Your practitioner may well apply a post procedure recovery cream after your treatment to help soothe and calm the skin.
This is also known as the ‘vampire facial’ and can be used on both the face and body for improvement of skin texture, skin tone, collagen regeneration and to aid in thicker hair formation on the scalp. PRP can be used at the site of skin injury, scars and / or obvious lines and wrinkles too. Treatment results vary, however in most patients the results last up to 18 months. touch-up treatments will maintain the results.
PRP has become a highly sought-after non-surgical procedure for facial and skin rejuvenation. PRP therapy is a treatment which uses your own blood platelets to stimulate new cell growth, helping to improve your complexion, skin texture and to restore lost facial volume.
Your blood is essentially made up of four components; red blood cells, white blood cells, the plasma and the platelets. We take your blood and spin it in a centrifuge, which enables the separation of the blood cells from your plasma and platelets. This is then re-injected into the skin to stimulate collagen and new skin cells. PRP harnesses the beneficial functions of the patients own platelets and therefore there is no risk of allergy or rejection of the treatment.
What is the procedure?
Depending on how many areas you want to get treated, a volume of blood will be taken. This is usually between 10 to 30 ml. Your blood is then placed in a centifuge for around 8-10 minutes. Once your cells have separated, the rich platelets are extracted and injected into the skin where rejuvenation is requested.
What should you expect post treatment?
Most people will experience some mild to moderate swelling in the area of treatment, redness or heat, which are all common side effects and are part of the activation of your platelets. Because a volume of fluid hasto be administered, swelling is inevitable. Bruising can occur and may take several days to disappear.
How soon will I see results?
Most patients will require three treatments at four to six-week intervals. The first thing people notice is an improvement in skin turgor and elasticity. Collagen production can take up to three months to occur and the results can differ depending on the individual. Because the injected product is 100% your own, factors such as smoking, stress and illness can affect results. A series of three treatments can yield results for up to two years.
Are there any reasons why I can’t have PRP therapy?
Like the majority of cosmetic procedures, ladies who are pregnant, breast-feeding or trying to conceive are not suitable candidates. This treatment is not recommended in people on anti-coagulation treatment, autoimmune conditions, have suffered any type of cancer or who have certain implants in the treatment area. Your past and present medical history, as well as your past cosmetic history will be assessed to determine your suitability.
If you struggle with stubborn areas of fat, despite regular exercise and a healthy diet, while liposuction is one option, other less invasive treatments have emerged as a fat-dissolving alternative for both face and body such as Aqualyx.
Aqualyx is an injectable compound made from a family of acids that cause fat destruction in the body. the solution is water-based and contains ingredients that bind to the fat cell walls, before rupturing and releasing the fat to be dissolved by your own body.
In other words, the acids contained in aqualyx work by liquefying and permanently destroying fat cells, which are then eliminated naturally by the body through the lymphatic system.
Aqualyx is a safe and effective fat-dissolving injection designed to work with your body to get rid of excess fat cells. Aqualyx injections are very effective for face and body sculpting and are ideal for clients who favour minimally invasive treatments.
Aqualyx can be used to treat the following areas
Most clients notice a visible difference within six weeks with subsequent treatments further improving the overall result. the number of treatments required ranges from one to eight, with intervals of four weeks in between.
Once aqualyx dissolves the unwanted fat, the effect is normally permanent. however, you must try to maintain a stable weight as if you gain weight following the procedure, it is possible that results might be compromised.
Aqualyx is intended for people usually (but not always) between 18 to 60 years old, who have good skin elasticity.
How does Aqualyx work
Aqualyx injections are used to effectively dissolve areas of resistant fat deposits without the need for liposuction. this process happens over a few weeks, so results may not be immediately visible.
After the treatment you should avoid applying any cosmetics onto the treated area for at least 12 hours and avoid all direct sources of heat and radiation (sunlight, uv-radiation, sauna etc.). furthermore, you should abstain from particularly demanding physical exercise for at least seven days.
Aqualyx side effects and contraindications
The process usually takes anywhere from a half an hour to an hour. swelling and minor bruising can occur directly after the procedure but should disappear within a few days.
A rarer side effect is scarring, which has been reported but is not known to occur with any regularity. therefore, it is important to evaluate your skin’s elasticity prior to receive aqualyx injections.
It is also possible (but very rare) that you could have an allergic reaction to one or more of the substances present in aqualyx.
You should not receive aqualyx injections if:
